たむけ【手向け】

an offering to a deity [deceased person's spirit]; a tribute to a person who is about to part [depart, graduate, leave 《a place》].

●手向けの花 an offering of flowers; a floral tribute

・手向けの辞 a verbal tribute [an encomium] 《to sb》

・旅立つ人への手向けの言葉 a farewell (in words) to a person setting out on a trip.
